Interpretation

1   The Interpretation Bylaw applies to this policy.

Definitions

2   In this policy:

"surplus campaign funds" means funds paid to the City in accordance with section 24 (4) of the Local Elections Campaign Financing Act;

"unrestricted surplus campaign funds" means surplus campaign funds that cease to be trust funds and become funds of the City for use in the discretion of the City in accordance with section 24 (5) (b) of the Local Elections Campaign Financing Act.

Policy statement

3   (1) Unrestricted surplus campaign funds will be applied to general revenue.

(2) Any year-end operating budget surplus resulting from the application of subsection (1) will be allocated in accordance with the City's Reserve Policy.
