Purpose of this policy

1   To establish responsibilities for dyke patrols when water levels on the river side of the dykes are high.

Guiding principles

3   (1) The City Engineer, in consultation with the Provincial Inspector of Dykes, shall establish patrols of dykes during the freshet periods. The number and frequency of patrols will depend on the levels of water in the river.

(2) Patrols will normally be conducted by trained City staff.
