Purpose of this policy

1   To control the cost and distribution of lapel pins.

Guiding principles

2   To be eligible for free lapel pins, a group or individual must be involved in an activity which promotes Abbotsford outside the City, (eg. sports tournaments, student exchanges, conventions, etc.).

Events outside the City (other than sports-related activities

3   (1) For Groups - first 25 pins free; additional pins at cost;

(2) For Individuals - first 5 pins free; additional pins at cost.

Events outside the City - sports-related activities):

4   Requests for lapel pins for groups and/or individuals travelling to or participating in sports related activities, will be referred to the Parks and Recreation Department.

Events Hosted in the City:

5   (1) Each participant shall receive one pin at no cost when the Mayor and/or a delegate has been invited to greet visiting participants;

(2) Pins shall be available at cost when the Mayor and/or a delegate is not welcoming participants.
